Hi there! Casey Denman here with TaxSaleAcademy.com, answering your weekly question. This week’s question comes to us from Scott. And Scott says, “What’s the easiest way to research properties coming up at tax sale?
Scott, first off, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there is no super easy way to research tax sale properties. I wish I could sit here and tell you to just go to a certain website, punch in a few buttons, and it tells you, “Yes, this is a good investment and you should spend up to X amount of dollars on it,” or “No, this is a bad investment. Steer clear of it.” Unfortunately, there’s just no super easy way.
See, what happens here is that tax sale research is a lot of things combined. We’re talking about Google Maps, GIS maps, aerial maps, property appraiser reports, valuation reports; all sorts of things. And basically, all these things have to come together perfectly for it to be a great tax sale investment. And when they don’t fit together perfectly, it’s something that you should avoid. Because there’s just so many different pieces to the puzzle that you have to go to a variety of methods and a variety of sources to get all these information and put it together.
Scott, as far as researching properties, I have a lot of great videos on TaxSaleAcademy.com or my YouTube channel about researching properties. We teach how to read property appraiser reports, how to read Google Maps and all sorts of great information. So I suggest you browse through those videos. And at the very least, you can obtain the basics on your tax sale research. Now, if you’d like more advanced training, consider joining The Tax Sale Academy.
Scott, I hope this has answered your question. If you have a follow-up question or if anybody else has any questions about tax sale investing, head on over to my website at TaxSaleAcademy.com, which you can do by clicking the blue link at the bottom of this video. Again, it will take you to TaxSaleAcademy.com. And you’re there, submit your question, and it’s very possible I’ll give you a video response just like this one.
Have a great day, folks! Bye-bye.
