Hey, everybody! It’s Casey Denman here with TaxSaleAcademy.com, talking about how you can use Google as a tool for your tax sale research. Now, whether you realize it or not, there’s nearly 4 billion pages on the Internet. That’s 4 billion different websites. And oftentimes, you only need to have one or two of these pages that you’ll be looking for a particular piece of property. This is literally trying to find a needle in a field full of haystacks. It’s just almost impossible sometimes without some help.

Now, Google is the most powerful search engine in the world. So, how do you utilize its power? Well, there’s a few different ways. Number one, you can search the parcel number. If you have the parcel number to the property, simply type the parcel number into Google and hit “search” and it’s very possible you’ll come across some sort of property appraisal report, an assessor’s report or maybe some other information. Maybe the property has gone before the County Commission and it’s possible you’ll come across their County Commission Report on that particular piece of property.

If that doesn’t work, try searching the address. Not only will you get the things we’ve just discussed, but oftentimes, you’ll come across such things as Zillow and Trulia and other websites that generate automated reports and at least will give you the very basics on the property. I’ve been searching for properties before and I’ve done my research. I go to Google and I type in their address only to discover that that house was the scene of a homicide before. It sounds crazy, I know, but actually, I was typing there, doing my research and it looked like a great house. Only to realize that somebody was murdered there a year ago. Of course, I steered away from that property.

Now, if the parcel number doesn’t work or the address doesn’t work, try searching the subdivision name. Go a little broader and search that subdivision name and it’s very possible you’ll come across the property owner association’s website, the homeowner association website or maybe some other listings in that subdivision which will help give you some comparable properties.

Now, with that said, you need to know that Google is the top visited site in the world. It is a super, super powerful tool that you can use as a tax sale investor and I highly recommend that you take advantage of using Google as a super powerful tool to implement into your business.
